Saw 4

The film opens with the autopsy of the now deceased Jigsaw Killer, John Kramer, who was killed in the ending climax of Saw III. During the operation, a wax-coated microcassette is found in Jigsaw's stomach. Detective Hoffman is called to the scene, where he plays the tape which states that, although Jigsaw is dead, "the games have just begun."

The scene changes to two men awakening in a mausoleum, finding themselves in one of Jigsaw's prearranged "games". One man has been rendered blind (his eyes sewn shut), while the other is mute (his lips sewn together). They are both connected by a chain around their neck to a machine. They pull the chain in opposite directions, one after the other. This results in a key being turned, triggering the machine, which starts pulling them in slowly. In a desperate attempt to escape, the mute man kills the panicking blind man, takes a key from the blind man's neck, and frees himself. He then begins screaming in terror which causes the stitches to tear free and blood pours from his mouth.

The police, meanwhile, have discovered the remains of Detective Kerry who was killed in the Angel Trap, set up by Amanda Young in Saw III. Lieutenant Rigg, distraught at the find, leaves the scene as FBI Agents Perez and Strahm arrive and begin investigating. They quickly deduce that Amanda needed help in placing Kerry in the trap, and that Jigsaw has another apprentice who is still alive.

That night, Rigg is attacked in his home by a person wearing the pig mask, and left unconscious, awakening to a series of interconnected tests that have been arranged. In the first test, which takes place in his own home, Rigg struggles to free a woman named Brenda from a deadly device, though his tape suggests that he leave her alone. After saving Brenda's life, she responds by attempting to kill Rigg, who is forced to subdue her. He later learns that she had a test of her own, which was to kill him with a knife that was taped under the TV should he save her, or she would be jailed for prostitution.

Finding clues to the next phase of the game, Rigg travels to a hotel and uses a key supplied by Jigsaw to gain access to a room that contains his next instruction. Rigg opens a chest on the bed and finds a pig mask and a photo of a man inside. Rigg's objective is to capture Ivan - the clerk of the hotel. Rigg captures Ivan and moves him to another room containing a vice into which Rigg is instructed to place Ivan's head. Rigg also makes Ivan strap his arms and legs onto the bed. Rigg plays Ivan's tape and Ivan must either push two buttons that would gouge his eyes out or have the device rip off his arms and legs. Surrounded by photos and video evidence of Ivan's sordid past as a rapist, an enraged Rigg decides to follow Jigsaw's advice and forces Ivan in the trap, who fails to complete it and has his arms and legs severed.

We are then shown a flashback of Rigg's past before he became a member of SWAT, dealing with the apparent beating of a child by her father. Unable to secure a confession from the father, Rigg, is forced to let him go; but not before Rigg assaults the man. Rigg escaped prosecution thanks to his underhanded lawyer, Art Blanc.

In present time, The FBI raid Rigg's home, believing that he may be connected to Jigsaw. There they find that Brenda has died from her injuries. The evidence there leads them to suspect Rigg and also helps them to discover Jill, Jigsaw's ex-wife, as a possible source of information about the recent traps.

Meanwhile, Rigg enters the now derelict school where the dreaded event took place, finding the deceased abusive father and his wife, chained together with a single spike piercing their body, the woman still alive. A flashback shows the woman being instructed to escape her abusive relationship by removing the spikes from her body while simultaneously killing her husband. However, she is unable to remove the final spike due to the wounds inflicted by previous spikes. Instructed by Jigsaw that Rigg must stand aside and allow her to complete her own test, Rigg hands her a key which will unlock her from her shackles - but tells her that she must remove the final spike herself as he follows his next clue. On the way out, he pulls the fire alarm to alert the authorities.

As the FBI and police investigate the crime scene, an accident with the now-completed trap occurs, spearing the forensic photographer through the head and killing her. Frustrated and disgusted, Perez and Strahm search the school further, finding Jigsaw's puppet, Billy, and a tape addressed to themselves. Perez is told that Strahm is "about to kill an innocent man" and that "her next step is crucial". As Perez peers more closely to investigate a ticking sound, the puppet's face explodes, sending shrapnel into her face and revealing a camera hidden in the puppet's skull.

Desperate, Strahm attempts to elicit information from Jill. Flashbacks reveal that Jill lost her and John's baby due to the inadvertent actions of a drug addict named Cecil. John was sitting outside the clinic where Jill worked, waiting to pick her up, when he was solicited for sex by Addison, whom he would later place in a trap in Saw II. Noticing Cecil running from a scene where he had accidentally slammed a door into Jill, John investigated, finding Jill wounded, and carried her to the hospital. However, the baby is lost and John is visibly distraught.

John became obsessed with the idea that only the victims can change themselves and began developing traps to test subjects. Jill, having healed from her assault, came to John's workshop with Art, discussing a project that they were partners in. John showed no interest, still consumed with his loss and told them both to leave. He tracked and abducted Cecil, then placed him in the first trap he constructed. There, John explained to Cecil that the purpose of the trap was to make Cecil "as ugly on the outside as he was on the inside". Cecil must push his face into knife trap that is placed around his face. During the test, the trap collapsed, freeing Cecil, though his face and wrists were already severely injured. John, unwaveringly stood as Cecil berated him; Cecil lunged at John, who side-stepped the attempt, causing Cecil to throw himself into a pile of razor wire. John then left Cecil to die.

Moving back to current time, Rigg has followed his clue to the Gideon factory owned by John, with Agent Strahm close behind using information obtained from Jill. As Rigg and Strahm move through the facility, we see Jeff, the protagonist of Saw III, working his way through the building. Strahm follows the noise that Jeff is making, leading him away from Rigg, while Rigg finds a door that leads him to his final test.

Inside the room are Detective Matthews, Detective Hoffman, and Art Blanc, each involved in his own test. Flashbacks reveal that Matthews has been a prisoner of Jigsaw for six months. Art has been instructed that once the time for the test is up, he can activate a switch which will free them all. Part of the test requires him to give Matthews a revolver with a single bullet. Each subject discovers however, that if someone enters the main door they will trigger another trap which will instantly kill Detective Matthews. An exhausted Rigg lunges at the door, smashing through it as Matthews shoots him in a vain attempt to stop him. Unfortunately, the trap is still activated and Detective Matthews is killed, his head crushed in between two ice blocks (each about the size of the block he stands on) angled upwards as they swing down on both sides. Rigg shoots Art, believing him to be Jigsaw's accomplice, fatally wounding him. As a final tape is played, Rigg is told that he has failed his test; his obsession to save others has inadvertently led to their deaths. Rigg had been warned by superiors on at least two occasions not to open unsecured doors, which he did once more, causing Matthews' death. Had he simply allowed time to run out and not saved them, they would have been safe from harm and released from their traps.

Meanwhile, Strahm still following Jeff, approaches a fridge like door. Before he can enter it the door closes shut with him on the outside. He opens the door and steps into the room. He finds Jeff and the bodies of Lynn, Amanda, and Jigsaw. As Jeff waves his weapon in a threatening manner, demanding to know the location of his daughter, Strahm kills him in defense.

Concurrently, Rigg lies wounded on the floor, Hoffman releases himself from his trap, revealing that he is involved in the game, a new Jigsaw apprentice. He leaves Rigg to die, stating "Game Over,". Hoffman then approaches the door Strahm had entered and closes it sealing him inside.

It is then revealed that the events of Saw IV have run concurrently to those of Saw III, with Strahm intercepting Jeff just after the deaths of Jigsaw, Amanda and Doctor Lynn. The autopsy scene that occurred at the beginning of the film is shown again, revealing it to have occurred after the events of the film and not before. As the tape found in Jigsaw's stomach is played again, Detective Hoffman is told that Jigsaw's games have only just begun, and he will not walk away untested.

The Wildcats are back. They start off getting out of school, where Shar Pay makes sure Troy
has job at her country club. Troy then in returns gets everyone else a job at the country
club too. Gabrielle is the new lifeguard, while Troy, Chad, and the others work in the
kitchen. At the country club there is a talent show, which Sharpay and Ryan win every year.
Kelsie had written a song for Troy and Gabrielle to sing at the talent show, which later on
Sharpay takes (at a faster tempo) for her and Troy to sing at the talent show. Sharpay
plots to take Troy away from Gabrielle,by getting him a better job than the rest of the
Wildcats. Troy starts changing, all for a "scholarship", starting to act like a jerk, which
results in Gabrielle breaking up with Troy, saying she doesn't belong there. After Troy
loses all his friends, because he began acting like a jerk and had found out that Sharpay
had made it where no Junior Staffers can perform in the talent show, he decides to do
something about it, and asks for his old job back with the rest of his friends and quits
the talent show leaving Sharpay with nothing, since she had ditched her brother to perform
with Troy. She then goes back to Ryan, who had been working with the Junior Staffers on an
act, who then leaves her saying she always wanted the spotlight, now she has it. Troy ends
up doing the talent show, thinking that he would be performing with Sharpay.
He learns a new song within a matter of minutes.

Plot Summary :

Two high school best friends forever (Jonah Hill,
Michael Cera) go on a mission to provide alcohol
for a graduation party in hopes of losing their
virginity. After facing the fact that both Seth
[Jonah Hill] and Evan [Michael Cera] will both
be going to different colleges next year, it
seems more imporant than ever that they go to a
high school party, and achieve some of their long
time goals; including, but not limited to, losing
thier virginity with the girl of their dreams by
getting them wasted and being their "regret hookup."
Their awkard friend Fogell [Christopher Mintz-Plasse]
gets a fake ID, with just the name McLovin [it was
either that or Mohammid], and agrees to get liquor
to bring to Jules' [Emma Stone] aka Seths dream girl's
graduation party. All seems to be going well until
McLovin is suckerpunched in the liquor store by a
robber. When the police come, they try to get a story
out of the clerk, but she is too worried about her
exam tomorrow, so their question McLovin, which they
give offer to give a ride home [more hillarity ensues].

All in all the boys almost / briefly get laid, and
learn that its just better to man up and confront the
girl than try to / count on her geting wasted if you
like her.

Deja Vu

After an explosion on a ferry kills over 500 people including a large group of party-going sailors, an ATF agent investigates the crime. AN FBI agent also joins the investigation. Impressed with the ATF agent's skills, the FBI agent invites him to join a new team that has a new program that uses satellite technology to look backwards in time for 4-1/2 days to try to capture the terrorist. Meanwhile a young woman who was burned washes up on shore. Meant to look like part of of the explosion, the body arrives at its location too soon, which leads the agents to believe her death is related to the explosion. As they use the new technology to study the woman, the ATF agent determines that this is not satellite imagery but somehow is using a time warp. From this point in the film, the movie moves from a crime film to a sci-fi time paradox film. Nonetheless, the action is non-stop and always captivating. The end of the film may be confusing to some people, but it is all laid out if one cares to look carefully. Contains some extreme violence that some may find disturbing, particularly during the explosion when many people are shown jumping off the boat in flames.

In Algiers, New Orleans, after the explosion of a ferry transporting the sailors from the USS Nimitz and their families with 543 casualties, the lonely AFT agent Doug Carlin is assigned to investigate the terrorist attack. Without any lead, he is informed by Sheriff Reed about a corpse of a woman that was found one hour before the explosion, but burnt with the same explosive. He is invited by FBI Agent Pryzwarra to join the surveillance team leaded by Jack McCready in the investigations, using a time window and Einstein-Rosen bridge through seven satellites to look back four and half days in time. He discloses the identity of the mysterious dead woman called Claire Kuchever and decides to follow her last moments trying to find the criminal. Along the surveillance, Doug falls in love for Claire and tries to change destiny, saving her life.

Plot summary :
Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings." But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

Cris Johnson reads minds, or so he leads everyone to believe, what he really does is see around 2 minutes into the future and can change events to pan out a more positive way, but only his future.

When a nuclear threat is discovered on American soil, the FBI discover his gift and want him to help track down the terrorists. He has plans of his own however, he saw a lot further than 2 minutes at one point and it involved his future girlfriend Jessica. Knowing the location of their meeting he goes there every day with hopes that its going to be "the day" she walks into his life.

As the FBI close onto his location though, so do the terrorists who also have intel of his gift and want him dead. Unfortunatly for Cris he remains alive while his girlfriend is captured by the terrorists and has to aid the FBI in finding them both after all, before its too late.

Synopsis

K is so addicted to smoking that is has become impossible for him to live without it. However, he gets a rude jolt when fed up with her husband’s craving for ciggies, his wife, Anjali walks out on him never to return unless he quits smoking. It is then he decides to do something about his obsession. He goes to meet Baba Bengali Sealdahwaale, who runs a ‘Prayogshala’ -- a centre for rehabilitation from all sorts of addiction and afflictions. When he meets the Baba; he walks into an agreement he can’t walk out of. Proud and desperate, K throws caution to the wind and challenges the Baba’s diktats. Synopsis :
Aditya (Shahid Kapur), a defeated industrialist, is even more broken as the girl he loves is getting married. Unable to muster up the courage to return home, he drifts out of the gathering and aimlessly boards a train, bounding away into the night. As destiny would have it, on the train he meets Geet (Kareena Kapoor) – a beautiful but annoyingly talkative girl who is leaving Mumbai to go her hometown – Bhatinda (Punjab). Later, she has plans of eloping with her boyfriend. Geet irritates Aditya to the point of getting him to leave the train. As she tries to get him back on the train, she ends up missing it and the two find themselves stranded on a desolate station with no luggage or money. Begins the idyllic journey through the exuberant North Indian heartland in which this odd couple will make their way through buses and taxis and camel-carts, crossing Highways and deserts and lakes, meeting all kinds of people, to reach her house in Punjab. On arrival, Geet's family mistakes the two for lovers. Before this misconception can be cleared, Geet escapes to her boyfriend in Manali. Aditya leaves with her, confirming the suspicion that they are lovers. In Manali, Aditya feels empowered to return to Mumbai and resurrect his ailing business. Life takes a positive turn and Aditya begins to do well. One day Geet's family who think that she is with him confronts Aditya. He is shocked to learn that Geet has not returned home. He takes it upon himself to find her. He finally tracks her down in a Himalayan town and begins another journey to reach Bhatinda and flow into the colors and conceptions of a loud and happy North Indian family!How their separate journeys become one, forms the destination of JAB WE MET, a beautiful and captivating saga of made-for-each-other love. Synopsis :

Synopsis :
What do you do when you get a phone call from a stranger begging you to save her life? What would you do if your only ray ray of hope is your phone? Would you sacrifice your love to save somebody's child? Wrong number answers these questions in a dramatic way. It's a great mix of mystery, action and comedy, on the beautiful backdrop of London. Zayed comes to London to convince his girlfriend Minisha to give him another chance to prove his love for her. Meanwhile, Sanjay, an undercover MI5 agent, receives a CD from Sohail Khan and his lady, Tanushree, which contains the recording of his kidnapped wife, Urmila, and is asked to follow the instructions. He asks his colleague Amrita to crack the code and moves off. He's completely confused about what's happening. Soon he realises that he is being used as a weapon to assassinate the PM of India on his London tour. As he is still not agreeing to plans, Sohail finally decides to kidnap his kid. Sanjay's kidnapped wife, Urmila, starts trying to escape. Her only ray of hope is the telephone call she's accidentally made to Zayed Khan. He's in touch with her throughout the movie on his cell phone. Continuously talking with her and giving her moral support. As Zayed decides to help Urmila, his love of life,Minisha gets pissed off and threatens to break up again. A happy-go-lucky brat Zayed, who never takes anything seriously, risks his own life to save an unknown family just because of a call. Aashish Chaudhary - the super-cop of London is in charge of security of the visiting Prime Minister. But as his girlfriend has her birthday the very same day, Ashish is caught between his personal life and duty. He obviously chooses the later. Wrong Number deals with many different characters and their lives on a parallel ground. It's a story of how lives of unknown people get intermingled during this crisis. Will Sohail and tanushree succeed in their sinister plans? And will Zayed be able to save his love life with Minisha?, Will Urmila and her kid live another day just with the help of Zayed's phone? Will Ashish be able to protect the life of the Prime Minister? Speed is a visual extravaganza with a touch of humour, action and suspense.

Job Fair In China - Thank God We Were Not There

These were taken in a job fair held in China earlier this year. Its hard to believe that a country, which is the fastest growing economy in the world and who’s stock markets are making new highs every year, has its citizens desparately flocking to such job fairs. This suggests that, even though China may tip USA as the largest economy in the world, in a few years time, the standard of living of the citizens of China is likely to be lower than most American and European countries.
